Am 06.11. fand in den Räumen des Curiohauses in Hamburg die Verantstaltung Mein Wein Italien statt.

Italien begeistert, fasziniert und ist wunderschön. Landschaft, Kultur und Kulinarik ziehen uns in den Bann. Insbesondere beim Wein hat Bella Italia viel und immer wieder Neues zu bieten. Dieser Herbst bietet gleich zwei Möglichkeiten, Ihr persönliches "WEIN ITALIEN" neu zu entdecken. (Zitat Mein Wein Italien)

Die Veranstaltung begann mit einer moderierten Weinprobe mit 8 Weinen aus der Sangiovese Traube.

Die Weine

Villa La Ripa - 2020 Peconio - Toscana IGT

Vinification process : the bunches are destemmed and crushed very softly in order not to rupture the skins. During fermentation many punching down of the cap are carried out in order to obtain aromas, colour and tannins by the skins. After the maceration of pomace and skins which lasts about 15 days, wine is drawn off.

Malolactic fermentation and aging: After racking, the wine is decanted and then the malolactic fermentation takes place. This one lasts about 10 days and takes place at a temperature of 20 ° C. Peconio is aged for 6 months in used French oak barrels of Allier and 6 months in bottle. (Zitat Villa La Ripa)

Fattoria Il Muro - 2020 Il Muro Chianti Riserva - Chianti DOCG

Our Riserva represents the selection of the best Sangiovese grapes from our best vineyard «Galioffo vecchio», aged in traditional tuscan big chestnut wood barrels. The use of chestnut barrels is our conscious choice to keep the tradition of ageing with chestnut barrels alive.

VINIFICATION: The Sangiovese was fermented and put to the big oak/chestnut barrels for 18 months of ageing, following a lengthy aging in the bottle for 6 months to obtain the optimal maturation.

TASTING NOTES: It’s bright ruby red in color. Its aroma is a wild notes of ripe mulberry, permeated by notes of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate, that come from the large barrels. Well-balanced, velvety, with important excellent structure and prolonged concentrated finish with persistent typical Sangiovese tang. (Zitat Fattoria Il Muro)

Tenuta Scrafana - 2020 Benintende - Chianti Superione DOCG

Ruby red in colour tending towards garnet. An intense bouquet, typical of the grape, with fruity notes of red plum, blackberry and cherry accompanied by subtle hints of liquorice.

Its name has a close association with the Scrafana Estate, since it was the name of an old farmer who was the first, according to historical records, to cultivate this area. We don’t know what Benintende looked like, because having carefully studied the few documents that exist we found nothing more than a single reference, anyhow we wanted to pay tribute to him by depicting him on the label. Carpineto Grandi Vini di Toscana - 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva - DOCG

Collemattoni - 2018 Brunello die Montalcino - DOCG

Vinification: removal of grape stalks, soft pressing, fermentation in stainless steel casks at the controlled temperature of 28- 30°C, maceration on the skins for 20-25 days with extracting technique made with delestage (one a week) and pumping over (decreasing along the process).

Method of aging: it ages for a minimum of 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels of 32 Hl. Then other 4 months in the bottle for refining. (Zitat Collemattoni)

Poderi Moretti - 2018 Moretti DOCG Barolo

Fabrizio Dionisio - 2021 Linfa Bio - DOC Cortona

Linfa di Syrah grew up out of the desire to explore a very different aspect of Syrah – yes, another interpretation of this expressive grape varietal that we use to make both red wine and white (see our beloved Rosa del Castagno and Bolla Galeotta). After Il Castagno, our most representative wine, and Cuculaia, our cru (both of which age for a long time in our barricaia in wooden barrels of different sizes made for us by master coopers and in our old concrete tanks which were skillfully restored by experienced artisans), and after the baby of the family, Castagnino (which is aged for a shorter period in our cement tanks to preserve its integrity and fragrance, producing a wine that shows the identity of the varietal and is immediate and easy to drink wine over a complex one), I wanted to see how my Syrah might taste if aged in another kind of container, one linked to the most ancient winemaking practices and to the history of wine itself. Terra Mazar Assuli - 2017 Lorlando Riserva - DOC Sicilia

Vinification: controlled fermentation at temperatures between 20°-27°C, with maceration on the skins for 25-30 days, and extraction of the noble compounds, through pumping over.

Sella delle Spine - 2022 Greco di Tufo "Don Raffaele" - DOCG

The Greco di Tufo DOCG “Don Raffaele” comes from the vine called Greco and is a white wine that has a deep straw yellow color, with a very complex olfactory profile, with notes of ripe fruit and hints of peach, apricot, cedar and almond. Its vineyards are located on a tuffaceous soil and are worked through a defined farming systemguyot, which involves a type of winter pruning that carefully selects the shoots that will carry the new bunches for subsequent harvests.

The harvest time is identified in the second decade of October, it concerns about 3,300 vines per hectare that provide a production of about 70 quintals. After the harvesting and pressing phase, it is fermented in steel barrels at a controlled temperature of 6-8 degrees C. In its optimal conditions it has an alcohol content that varies between 12.5 and 13.5 vol. and releases a dry, soft flavor that stands out for the particular balance between freshness and flavor. In the kitchen, its pairing with fish dishes, such as shellfish and seafood is indicated and it should be served at a temperature ranging between 12 and 14 degrees C. (Zitat Sella delle Spine)

Terra Mazar Assuli - 2018 Furioso - DOC Sicilia

Vinification: soft pressing and destemming and traditional fermentation with 25-30 days of maceration. Very soft extraction of the noble compounds through traditional pumping over 26°-27°C.

Cantine Coppi - 2017 Don Antonio - IGP Puglia

Don Antonio ist das Ergebnis eines Versuchs, den der Senator und Önologe Antonio Michele Coppi, Gründer der Weindynastie Coppi, mit seinen besten Trauben unternahm. Das Ergebnis überrascht sofort aufgrund der Reichhaltigkeit der Früchte, die der Wein im Glas darbietet, warm und überaus weich und harmonisch.

Weinbereitung: Durch eine innovative Technik, die einerseits eine Kohlensäuremaischung für etwa 7 bis 8 Tage vorsieht, andererseits malolaktische Gärung, die in 100 hl Fässern aus slawonischer Eiche erfolgt.

Verfeinerung: 6 Monate in den selben Fässern aus slawonischer Eiche, darauf folgt eine Ruhephase in Flaschen für mindestens 1 Jahr. (Zitat Cantine Coppi)

Cantine Coppi - 2017 Senatore - DOC Gioia del Colle

Dieser Wein ist dem Senator Antonio Michele Coppi gewidmet, dem weitsichtigen Gründer des Weingutes Coppi. Der Önologe kennt das Territorium der Murgia wie kein anderer und verehrt die Landschaft der Trulli, welche in dieser Rebsorte ihren edelsten Ausdruck erfährt.

Weinbereitung: Mit großer Aufmerksamkeit werden die Trauben in der Kellerei erneut verlesen, daraufhin entrappt, gepresst und in Tanks zur alkoholischen Gärung auf Schale geleitet. In diesem sanften Übergangsstadium nimmt der Wein wichtige Substanzen der Beerenschale auf, die später das Aroma des Weines bestimmen, Fruchtigkeit, Polyphenole und Tannine. Nach der Trennung von Wein und Traubenrückständen wird der Wein in Stahltanks geleitet. Jede der Passagen erfolgt bei streng kontrollierter Temperatur. (Zitat Cantine Coppi)

Cignomoro - 2021 Luminaria - DOC Primitivo di Manduria

Cignomoro - 2021 80 Vecchie Vigne - DOC Primitivo di Manduria

Still red wine obtained from grapes grown in the Manduria countryside, from approximately 80-year-old vineyards. Aromas of undergrowth, wrapped in a sweet note of ripe cherry. The taste is rich and very concentrated, enhanced by a consistent presence of tannins sweets.

Our grapes are harvested by hand between the end of August and the first days of September, from vineyards raised in Alberello Pugliese: small trees in their own right, which belong to the Mediterranean culture. The production is around 800 g per plant.

Aging in medium toasted French oak barriques for a period of about twelve months, after which it is aged in the bottle for another 4 months. (Zitat Cignomoro)

Cignomoro - 2021 6 Anime - IGT Puglia

Still red wine obtained from grapes grown and selected throughout Puglia. It’s a single wine per blend. Its elegance and delicacy allow you to drink it young, however it lends itself well to age.

Our grapes are harvested by hand in a period that goes from the end of August, to September, to the beginning of October, in our vines raised with the Guyot system. The density is 4000 plants per hectare, with a production of about 1800 g per plant.

Aging in medium toasted French oak barriques for a period of about eight months, when the wine has reached its maximum potential, the blend is assembled. (Zitat Cignomoro)

The vintage of 2018 Sasso di Licinia represents the first vintage of Sasso di Licinia in 100% Petit Verdot format. It is a wine produced in the clos style– with the grapes coming from a small vineyard with a specific calcareous subsoil and therefore the wine is only produced in extremely small quantities. The wine produced at Sasso di Licinia is characterized by its dark fruit aromas layered with traditional European kitchen herbs – sage, rosemary but also with tea leaves. It is a highly structured wine with a powerful tannic finish – an explosive wine – muscular in its structure but complex in its aromatic profile. (Zitat Tenuta Licinia)

Tenuta Licinia - 2019 Montepolli - IGT Toscana

The vintage of 2019 Montepolli represents the first vintage of a new wine. It is a wine produced in the clos style– with the grapes coming from a small vineyard with a specific clay limestone subsoil and therefore the wine is only produced in small quantities. The wine produced in the Montepolli is built on ideas of texture and smoothness in order to bring forward a wine which has ‘textural accessibility’. The point of the wine is in part to exemplify how even in hot weather conditions texturally satisfying wines can be built. (Zitat Tenuta Licinia)

Tenuta Licinia - 2019 Sasso di Fata - IGT Toscana

The vintage of 2019 Sasso di Fata represents the first vintage in a new movement in Tuscan Cabernet. It is a wine produced in the clos style– with the grapes coming from a small vineyard with a specific subsoil and therefore the wine is only produced in extremely small quantities. The wine produced at Sasso di Fata is generally said to resemble more the floral and texturally soft wines of Margaux than the more full-bodied wines of Pauillac, the region that is traditionally associated to Tuscan Cabernet. Montespada - 2017 Cannonau Riserva - DOC

An important Grenache, a grape typically cultivated on the Island of Cannonau, and from which the name of the grape is derived, as a wine-and-fruit reference to the island. This wine is complex and typical of the Riserva category of wines aged in wooden barrels. At table, this wine brings the most intense variety of the scents of this single grape variety where notes of vanilla, that, based on the increase of the serving temperature of the wine, gradually increase and become pleasant hints of Cherries scents, and then goes on until it expresses spicy notes which are typical of the Grenaches".

The grapes are harvested at full maturity after being left to dry on the vine, then the grapes are promptly de-stemmed, crushed and fermented at a controlled temperature which is not too low, in order to allow for the adequate extraction of its Colour and "good quality" tannins. There is a brief maceration, after which it is left to age for a long period of two years in holding tanks and alternatively in large Barrels for about 6 months. This results in a good, warm and intense taste which is also due to a slow ageing process in wooden Tanks and barrels. This wine which is dark garment red in colour, is elaborate with intense and aromatic notes of vegetation and red fruits.

The Muto Riserva is achieved after a fermentation process, after the separation of heavy Lees, and after the product has been left to mature in big Barrels for a few month with frequent but mild stirring, in order to favor the extraction of the scents, and, finally after it has been left in bottles to mature for another 6 months, before being put on sale. The strong wine of an impo- sing structure and a high alcohol content lends itself perfectly to aging even for up to 10 years. (Zitat Montespada)

Montespada - 2019 Ripasso della Valpolicella Classico - DOC

A full-bodied red wine with an intense and brilliant ruby color. To the sense of smell, what stands out is, the characteristic aroma of black Cherries and ripe Berries as well as a hint of vanilla because of the aging processes in oak barrels. On the palate, it is ripe and fruity. This wine is referred to as the “son of the Amarone” but, it is less complex and easier to drink.

In March, after the harvest, the new vintage of the Valpolicella Superiore is macerated together with the skins from previous Amarone productions. This, according to the ancient Veronese technique of the "Ripasso", increases the aromas and enriches the structure of the Valpolicella wine. A further aging process for 12 months in oak barrels is required, and this gives further characteristics of higher complexity to the Wine.

The Ripasso Valpolicella is achieved after fermentation process, and separation of the wine from heavy lees. It is then left to mature for a long time, in accordance with production specifications in Large Barrels and subjected to frequent, but gentle Batonnage and stirring for a few months, to enhance the extraction of fragrances. It is subsequently bottled and left to age for at least 3 months before being put on sale, within the terms set out by the product specifications. This strong wine of an imposing structure and a good level of alcoholic content makes it a perfectly suitable candidate for further maturing for some years, thereby improving its complexity, without any worries about signs of damage, as a result of further ageing. Montespada - 2019 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico - DOCG

Full bodied with sensory hints to the nose and the palate of fully ripe fruits, Sour Black Cherries, Red Cherries, and at the end of this sensory experience come the hint of bitter chocolate.

The grapes are dried at a controlled temperature for 3 months to reduce their weight by 40%. After being gently crushed, a slow fermentation process in Steel Tanks commences. 2/3 of the wine is matured in large Oak barrels for about two years and a third is matured for 18 months in barrels. This process is followed by a final refinement in bottles for at least 6 months before being put on sale.

The Amarone della Valpolicella is achieved after fermentation process, and separation of the wine from heavy lees. It is then left to mature for a long time, in accordance with production specifications in Large Barrels and subjected to frequent, but gentle Batonnage and stirring for a few months, to enhance the extraction of primary and secondary fragrances. It is subsequently bottled and left to age for at least 12 months before being put on sale, within the terms set out by the product specifications of the Amarone Classico.
This strong wine of an imposing structure and a high alcohol content make it a perfectly suitable candidate for aging for many years after production, and whose complexity will improve from year to year, without the fear being damaged as a result of time. (Zitat Montespada)
