Beyond Beer ist ein kleiner Biershop in Hamburg Eimsbüttel. Neben einer guten Bierauswahl gibt es immer 3 Biere vom Faß zu probieren. In der Regel gibt es einmal im Monat eine Verkostung mit 7 bis 8 Bieren.

Saint Lamvinus (2019)

Merlot is the iconic grape variety used for Bordeaux wines and the fruit we use to produce Saint Lamvinus is from the Côtes de Bourg area. Around eight weeks of soaking allows the lambic to extract all the tannins from the grapes. As in wine production, a good grape harvest will yield a beer with more body and character while a poorer harvest will result in less fruity Saint Lamvinus in which the presence of lambic is more pronounced. The use of grapes grown for wine means that Saint Lamvinus symbolises the link between the worlds of wine and beer.
Given the success of this product we have over the past several years tried out many other combinations with our winemaking friends, most of whom have adopted a biodynamic and completely natural approach to agriculture. These very limited production batches are only available for tasting at the brewery.
Pascal Delbeck, who back then was the steward of château Belair in Saint-Emilion, is the person who first thought of making this beer. In fact, the first two batches were produced in the Bordeaux region, and instead of us receiving the fruit at the brewery as is usually the case we sent two-year-old lambic to Saint-Emilion. Given how successful the beer was it became necessary to produce more, and for that reason production operations were transferred to the brewery. Pirinexus Gose

Mûre Tilquin Draft Version - Gueuzerie Tilquin

The Mûre Tilquin - Draft Version (4.8%) is a lighter version of the Oude Mûre Tilquin à l’ancienne. Same recipe as the Oude Mûre Tilquin à l’ancienne with 300 gr frozen blackberries per liter, but lighter in alcohol, due to the use of a blend of 50% of Meerts (March Lambic) and 50% of 1 and 2 years old lambics. Garage Beer Co. - Somewhere in the middle

Taking a little bit from the North and a little from the South, we blend these 4 big varieties to produce an IPA teeming with bright, juicy aromatics. The whole spectrum of fruits is displayed here from tropical, stone, citrus and orchard fruits with some berry and a hint of white wine like character. Omnipollo - Kellerbeer

Omnipollo - Boy

This is our hyper focused double dry-hopped pale ale brewed with an abundance of the best hops we could find. Boy starts out as a clean and smooth base of pale ale malt, two types of oats and wheat. To add a subtle breadiness we do a traditional decoction mash in preparation for the massive double dry hop charges that Boy receives. (Zitat Omnipollo)

Mahr's Bräu - aU Ungespundet Naturtrüb

Wer A sagt, muss auch U sagen.
Ungespundet, ungefiltert und unverschämt gut. Halt a U, wie es bei uns heißt. Man hat ja schließlich nicht ewig Zeit zum Bestellen. Und was kommt auf den Tisch, wenn man „a U“ ordert? Eine ganz besondere, hefetrübe Bierspezialität mit vollmundig-weichmalzigem Charakter. Angenehm herb und mit wenig Kohlensäure ist es ein Bier, das zur Brotzeit genauso gut passt wie zum entspannten Feierabend. Hat da einer „Kultbier“ gesagt? Naja, uns soll´s recht sein. In collaboration with our pals at Collective Arts Brewing in Hamilton, Canada.

Garage Beer Co. - Freakin'

The juice is dialled up high on this one! Freakin' is loaded up to the gills with Mosaic, Simcoe, Idaho 7 and El Dorado. Ripe mango, juicy peach, candy, apricot and a little pine resin are on show here. With a lower bitterness than we normally shoot for, this one is all about showcasing the fruit smoothie vibes. With a grist designed to create creamy body and fermented with a high glycerol producing yeast strain Freakin' slides down the throat. Not wanting things to veer into the cloyingly sweet realm we have ensured that this is fermented out enough to balnce the juicy, creamy goodness. (Zitat Garage Beer Co.)

The Kernel Brewery - Brown Ale Amarillo

A modern brown ale with a good balance of hops and malt. A great seasonal bridge between our pale ales and porters.
The February 2021 edition is hopped with American Amarillo hops with a bold distintively bitter orange and strong citrus flavour.
5.3-5.6% abv. Malted barley, oats. Sitting somewhere between Northern English and American brown ales in style. Medium-bodied. Toasted nuts and dark caramel balanced by hop bitterness and gentle hop aromas. (Zitat The Kernel Brewery)
