Beyond Beer ist ein kleiner Biershop in Hamburg Eimsbüttel. Neben einer guten Bierauswahl gibt es immer 3 Biere vom Faß zu probieren. In der Regel gibt es einmal im Monat eine Verkostung mit 7 bis 8 Bieren.

Beyond Beer bietet eine interessante Auswahl nationaler und internationaler Biere und eine gute Beratung. Und man kann auch 3 Biere vom Fass probieren, davon habe ich natürlich gleich Gebrauch gemacht.

Basqueland Brewing - Val Verde

A collab made with Other Half Brewing from Brooklyn, NY using Mosaic T90, Mosaic Cryo, Citra T90, Citra Cryo, Ella and Azacca hops (Zitat Basqueland Brewing Project)

Northern Monk Brewing - Dancing In The Mooblight

In 2017 we moobed it moobed it with our Brethren at Wylam Brewery. The beer was celebration of hops and a middle finger salute to click bait articles about hops giving you moobs.
Last year we brewed the follow up; Moobing on Up. As the nights draw in we wanted to bring back the taste of sunshine in a can. This year we’re dancing in the Mooblight.
This 8.2% DDH DIPA is packed with Vic Secret, Enigma, Citra, Ella and Topaz at a rate of 35g/l. (Zitat Northern Monk Brewing Co)

Brewski - Split Vision

Polly's Brew Co. - Rock the Bit

In keeping with the vast majority of our naming techniques for our beers, a misheard song lyric was the genesis for Rock the Bit. Named in honour of one of Arron's favourites by The Hues Corporation, this beer has all the soul and groove of its namesake. A massive hop bill of Cascade, Ekuanot, Galaxy and Mosaic glides around the palate like dancers at a rollerdisco, with a whole heap of tropical notes from Galaxy and Mosaic, backed up with a touch of complexity from Ekuanot, and some old school bite from Cascade. Polly's Brew Co. - Discount Jazz Hour

Let it not be said that we aren’t a cultured bunch here at Polly’s, we love spinning ‘The Birth of Cool’, ‘Blues & Roots’ and ‘Little Girl Blue’ as much as the next person. In actuality we named this beer as a reference to our favourite sketch from The Fast Show. Easy come, easy go we guess. Discount Jazz Hour is our first big beer release of the year and we’ve gone all out on this one. A US/South Pacific behemoth of a hop bill in Simcoe, Waimea, and Taiheke takes the stage here, with a big band’s worth of mango, grape, and passionfruit notes a plenty. (Zitat Polly's Brew Co.)

Dazed and Awake

Brewed with a similar malt grist to our Polly's collab DIPA, featuring a slight variant in the type of oats used, different fermentation profiles and of course different hop combinations. Dazed and Awake is dry hopped with Azzaca, El Dorado, Ekuanot and Mosaic, all towards the end of fermentation giving a plethora of white tropical fruit flavours such as lychee, guava, pear and a touch of clementine, all on a silky sweet body. Polly's Brew Co. - Confidently Lost

We’ve recently become massive fans of Oat IPAs here at Polly’s. Whether that’s down to enjoying the extra body it brings to our beers, or subconsciously wanting more oats thanks to a newfound obsession with oat milk in our coffees in the brewery is up for debate, but there’s definitely something about upping the oats on the malt bill that really make our beers pop. Featuring 50kg in the mash, this beer has a distinctive creaminess present throughout; buffed up by a generous dry hop bill of Simcoe and Citra for some tropical juiciness, with some Chinook thrown in for some old school bite for good measure. Apex Brewing Company - Culmination IPA

The thirst for knowledge, litterateur, fine arts (and big bold flavored IPAs) drove us into a more poetic approach to dry hopping for the second installment in the Northbound Gravity Sessions series - and so the “everything in moderation, including moderation” dry hopping method was born. Hidden in this IPA’s hazy depths, courtesy of large portions of naked oat malt, torrefied wheat and flaked oats, lies absurd amounts of Simcoe and Vic Secret hops. Expect tropical fruits, ripe stone fruits, citrus and all other buzz words associated with the style - we’ve more or less ticked all the boxes on the aroma chart with this one. North Brewing Co. - The Leafcutter DDHIPA

A straight up hazy IPA made using extra pale malt, wheat, flaked oats and naked malted oats. With a late dry hop at the end of fermentation using Citra + Mosaic (name a more iconic duo) and Azzaca joining the party too; bringing soft strawberry aroma and flavours of bright orange and fleshy pineapple, with a touch of dankness and spicy mango. Siren Craft Brew - Refractions

Refractions is punchy with flavour, packed full of hops and drinkable all day long. Aromas of mango and pineapple invite you in to this tropical treat which delivers juicy fruit notes and light citrus highlights in abundance. Beachwood Brewing - Mocha Machine Porter

Mocha Machine is a well-engineered endeavor in massive aromatics and rich flavors. Brewed with an array British and German malts, this burly brew is infused with masterfully roasted coffee from Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa, CA. Harvester of Waves takes our head brewer Ryan’s favorite beer and adds a touch of lactose. You’ll find elevated aromas of passion fruit, bright pine, berry and earth. Das Bier hatte eine hellgelbe, leicht trübe Farbe, eine feine Nase, etwas Hefe, am Gaumen vollmundig mit dezenter bis feiner Süße und einem Hauch Säure, eine dezente Bitterkeit und aromatischen Nachhall. Ein merkwürdiges Bier mit merkwürdigem Aroma, ganz lecker. (2020, getrunken bei Beyond Beer)

Garage Beer Co. - Mosaic Escalator

Das Bier hatte eine goldgelbe, trübe Farbe, eine volle Nase, tropische Früchte, Holunderblüten, am Gaumen vollmundig mit feiner Süße, tropische Früchte, eine dezente Bitterkeit und aromatischen Nachhall. Ein schönes fruchtiges DIPA, Mosaic ist der beste Hopfen für ein Single Hop IPA. Sehr lecker. (2020, getrunken bei Beyond Beer)

Exploiting CITRA to its farthest reach, a Double IPA of heady citradelic heights. Plumped up to busting point with body building grains and cereals then flushed out into the stratosphere using all known variants of the CITRA variety. But usually we just end up at a friend’s house party all night long… And what we drink is House Party – the super-clean malt allows the hops to give their juicy/tropical fruit flavours an unobstructed pathway to your palate.
