Beyond Beer ist ein kleiner Biershop in Hamburg Eimsbüttel. Neben einer guten Bierauswahl gibt es immer 3 Biere vom Faß zu probieren. In der Regel gibt es einmal im Monat eine Verkostung mit 7 Bieren.

Beyond Beer bietet eine interessante Auswahl nationaler und internationaler Biere und eine gute Beratung. Und man kann auch 3 Biere vom Fass probieren, davon habe ich natürlich gleich Gebrauch gemacht.

Brewski - Pango IPA

Pango is a mix of passionfruit, pineapple and mango merged into a fresh and easy IPA. The fruit and hops in combination is lifting this beer into the fresh fruity flavors we strive to accomplish. Drink this beer as it is or accompanied to your favorite barbecue dish.

Struise Brouwers - Black Damnation XVII Ben

he Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban's mind. His idea was to realize a double dozen ales with the use of Black Albert over a period of several years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with massive taste. Aslin Beer Company - Vapid

This is a new IPA for us, which we added double the amounts of oats and is hopped with Citra and a touch of Simcoe. The result is a beer with a YUGE mouth feel and notes of peach, mango, pineapple, and a pine bitterness. (Zitat Aslin Beer Company)

Amager Bryghus - Todd The Axe Man

For quite some time the Amager crew has been discussing this question: which person is the most rock’n’roll in the whole craft beer world - is it Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing or is it Todd Haug of Surly Brewing? In the end it wasn’t really all that difficult to decide since only Todd has played for Laura Dern in a David Lynch movie (yeah, Nicolas Cage was in that same movie, but since when did he count?) AND Todd plays the guitar in both a speed metal band and a stoner band. Add to that that Todd and his wife Linda are some of the nicest people to hang out with. So Todd, here’s to you: "Todd - The Axe Man" - a potent IPA loaded with fresh American aroma hops on a base of rich Golden Promise malt, Surly’s signature malt. Raise a glass to Todd, world class brewer - and master of the axe! Northern Monk - Patrons Project 9.06 Skelatory

We love their infectious enthusiasm and geekiness for brewing, their attention to detail and above all, we share a very similar view on how we want our IPAs to be and how to go about it. As a side note, DEYA founder Theo loves playing a bit of 5-a-side and we were short a player for the team Monk kickabout... so we put the call out and he answered. This IPA utilises a blend of New Zealand, Australian and American hop varieties, with NZ Motueka taking the lead by its distinctive upfront lime character, Vic Secret and Mosaic contributing hints of passion fruit, dark berries, and grapefruit. Continuing a bit of a theme in our projects with DEYA, we put together a multigrain grist, with the earth and spice flavors of malted rye prominent once again, this time backed up with malted oats and flaked barley for a robust, complex backbone. Lerwig - Brut Nature

Brut Nature is our interpretation of the champagne of IPAs – bone-dry, bright, effervescent, and above-all, bursting with hops. We brewed this one so that there are almost zero residual sugars left after fermentation, leaving a clean mouthfeel with lively carbonation and unparalleled drinkability. We cranked up the dankness by throwing in Denali hops with a super DDH-dose of Citra. Magic Rock Brewing - Stiggy Pop

Hot on the heels of the beer we made in Sweden comes our return collaboration with Hazy IPA masters Stigbergets of Gothenburg. Our friend, Stigbergets lead brewer (and Huddersfield ex-pat) Oli joined us for another juicy and hazy brew. In addition to our house malt the beer uses lots of Oats for a soft mouthfeel and some Rye to add body. The hopping features a combination of CTZ, Simcoe, Mosaic and Vic Secret for layers of fruit goodness, and the London Fog yeast gives a slightly sweet finish and ‘pop’ like drinkability. Magic Rock Brewing - Luminance

A thick and juicy New England style India Pale Ale, featuring a smooth and hazy body from the use of Oats, Wheat and Rye in the mash bill. Hopped in whirlpool and dry hop with Citra, Simcoe and Vic Secret hops with additional Lemondrop added in dry hop. The hops give a tropical dank and fruity flavor with additional herbal and pine qualities. The beer was fermented with London Ale II yeast to enhance aroma and add a lightly sweet finish. This one is brewed with our good friend Ramon from the small brewery SOMA out of Girona. SOMA is loved in Spain for their hop forward hazy DIPAs and IPAs. We brewed our first collab DIPA called Futura last year in Spain. Now we teamed up in Berlin to brew this juicy TIPA. (Zitat Fuerst Wiacek)

Using our tried and tested Salty Kiss method we fermented with German ale yeast and went big on the fruit with Pomegranate, Cherry and Lemon additions to deliver a deeply fruity and deeply pink beer with a light acidic tang and balanced tart finish. Magic Rock - Grower Owned

An IPA collaboration with Yakima Chief – Hop Union. Nick and senior VP of operations Karl put their heads together and put together a super fruity IPA which showcases the amazing new season’s hops. A little aromatic malt and some wheat was added to the mash to smooth out the mouthfeel and add some malty body flavour. The beer then used T90 Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra in whirlpool and big dose of Simcoe, Mosaic & Citra lupulin powder in dry hop. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Wild Beer - Pogo

POGO was inspired by our head brewers favourite fruits he loved to eat whilst growing up in California. Initially the beer started life as a hoppy pale ale but with the adition of real fruit and lactose it completely changes it, adding satisying layers of fresh tropical fruits whilst retaing the flavours of the solid malt base. Starting its life as a one off special it now has a permant place in our can and keg range.

Gueuze Tilquin – draft version

The Gueuze Tilquin – draft version (5,3% alc/vol) is a spontaneous fermentation beer obtained from the blending of a low alcohol lambic (called Meerts or March beer) with 1 and 2 years old lambics matured in oak barrels. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, it is re-fermented in stainless steel kegs or in Keykegs for a minimum period of 3 months. The lambics used were fermented and matured in our own oak barrels at the blendery. They are made from worts brewed by Boon, Lindemans and Girardin.
The taste is tart, dry and refreshing. The nose is fresh and lemony. An ideal light gueuze for terraces in the summer and for discovering the beers of spontaneous fermentation. (Zitat Gueuzerie Tilquin)

He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the richly varied domain of prokaryotic microorganisms, Jelly King reigns supreme.
Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (we use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2 year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too.

Thornbridge Brewery - Love Among the Ruins

This beer is the second iteration of a project we have been working on at the brewery for a few years now. We wanted to create a modern sour ale aged in barrels that had the same complexity and depth of flavour that our favourite sours from the USA offer. After using a Belgian yeast strain to give a good foundation on which to build, we aged the beer in Burgundy barrels with the fruity for well over a year. Adding cultures of Brettanomyces, Pediococcus and Lactobacillus at set points let us sour the beer gradually over many months and give layers of flavour that can only develop over time. The rich fruit aroma and flavours compliment the sharp sourness which subsides for more malt and yeast character to come through. Lively, dry and thirst-quenching, this beer is a beer to savour; a complex and mature sour ale that we feel fulfills our original objective. (Zitat Thornbridge Brewery)

Lervig - Paragon 2018

Our Barley Wine is the most special beer we make, being produced only once every year. It’s a blend of different bourbon barrel-aged vintages that have spent more than a year in wood. We blend the different barrels, and add a bit of freshly brewed Barley Wine to obtain the best possible version.
This year, the Barley Wine was brewed using a double-boil technique in which we evaporate the beer to a high concentration of sugar, add water back to the wort, and then boil it down again to increase Maillard reaction processes and build up some intense caramelization. We went easy on the hops to allow the malt and bourbon characteristics inherited from the barrels to be the champions of this beer. (Zitat Lervig Aktiebryggeri)
