Beyond Beer ist ein kleiner Biershop in Hamburg Eimsbüttel. Neben einer guten Bierauswahl gibt es immer 3 Biere vom Faß zu probieren. In der Regel gibt es einmal im Monat eine Verkostung mit 7 Bieren.

Der Shop

Beyond Beer bietet eine interessante Auswahl nationaler und internationaler Biere und eine gute Beratung. Und man kann auch 3 Biere vom Fass probieren, davon habe ich natürlich gleich Gebrauch gemacht.

Magic Rock Brewing - Saucery

A supernatural session IPA made for drinking all day long. Lightly sweet and malty Golden Promise™ malt, a balanced bitterness and layers of tropical fruit filled Citra and Ekuanot hops in whirlpool and dry hop. Fermented with London Ale II yeast to add more fruity body, and enhance malt and hop profile…. Same again? (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Lervig - Barley Wine 2017

Our Barley Wine is the most special beer we make, being produced only once every year. It’s a blend of different bourbon barrel-aged vintages that have spent at least one year in wood. We blend the different barrels, and add a bit of freshly brewed Barley Wine to obtain the best possible version.
This year, the Barley Wine was brewed using a double-boil technique in which we evaporate the beer to a high concentration of sugar, add water back to the wort, and then boil it down again to increase Maillard reaction processes and build up some intense caramelization. We went easy on the hops to allow the malt and bourbon characteristics inherited from the barrels to be the champions of this beer.
The aromas and flavours are intense, and should be enjoyed slowly by serving at room temperature to allow even more layered nuances to shine through and add to the beautiful complexity of this beer. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do. (Zitat Lervig Aktiebryggeri)

Mazarin is my take on a “thinker’s beer”. Rather than being big and undecipherably complex I wanted to create something that would calm a hop yearning nerve without fuddling the brain too much. In other words, a lavishly hopped ale of judicious ABV — an Extra Special Pale Ale if you will. In fact, so extra special that it snatched a gold medal at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in 2013. In november 2014 we doubled the hop bill. (Zitat Omnipollo)

Lervig & Cloudwater Brew Co - There's a Beer in My Fridge and I Need a Drink

Cloudwater is deservedly one of the most sought after brewers in Europe these days, and are known for their massively-hopped, juicy, hazy IPAs. We think we do a pretty good job as well... so this brew was an easy choice to make. Since, we have yet to see a DDH hazy Rye IPA out there, we thought we’d introduce our beloved rye into the IPA mix. Rye is known for its spicy, smooth character which is complemented by the beautiful mouthfeel of Golden Promise Pale malt. We then juiced it twice with hops though our new HopGun. We tripled-down on the dankness with Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe, then gave it a blast of Citra which this IPA couldn’t do without. (Zitat Lervig Aktiebryggeri)

Magic Rock Brewing - Chronostasis

Brewed as an homage to a timeless classic, our latest IPA takes more influence from old school West Coast IPAs in its hop profile, clean yeast character and amped up bitterness. Golden promise and crystal malt, plus a little wheat malt for body, create a baseline with a hint of sweetness to balance out the heavy hopping. Single hopped with 100% Centennial in whole hop, t90 and cryo in all stages of the brew, this beer has a huge floral hop aroma and tongue-tingling bitterness that lingers after each sip. Fermented out to 7% with WLP001 California ale yeast, giving a clean flavour and balanced roundness as a platform for the Centennial to shine through. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Heute war Cascade Brewing zu Gast bei Beyond Beer. Cascade Brewing ist eine Brauerei in Portland, Oregon.

Midnight Bramble 2016 Oak aged Sour

Sang Rouge 2015 Sour Red

Sang Rouge is a blend of sour red ales aged in select red wine barrels and oak puncheons for up to 24 months, highlighting the&xnbsp;depth and complexity of Cascade’s base red ale without the influence of additional fruits or spices. This rare project features&xnbsp;notes of roasted malts, dried currants, aged red wine and toasted oak. It’s ABV is 7.8 percent.
Sang Rouge, which serves as the foundation of Cascade Brewing’s Sang series, was last released in March of 2015, nearly three&xnbsp; years ago.&xnbsp;The 2015 project designation is due to the fact that this beer has been aging in oak casks on average of 24 months,&xnbsp; with some barrels exceeding 30 months. They said they would... oh… oh... then they was brewin’... BlakStoc – Wild Tree Hoppy Cider

We handrafted this cider with natural orchard apples from the Styrian hills and took them on the English Ale yeast ride of their life. Then we added a generous twist of American West Coast Chinook and Centennial hops, and bang, our Wild Tree Hoppy Cider was born. Cantillon – Kriek

Our sour cherries, which are certified organic, come from Turkey. The fruit is blended with lambic that is on average 20 months old, the proportion being 200 g of fruit per litre of beer. Since sour cherries have a very pronounced taste it is necessary to select a lambic that has enough character so that it will be a good match for the fruit. After soaking for two to three months, the lambic has extracted the full colours, fragrances and flavours of the sour cherries. At that point it is blended with one-year-old lambic, which contributes the sugars necessary for secondary fermentation in the bottle. We only use fresh fruit and, as is the case for wine, Cantillon beers can be referred to in terms of vintages. Prevailing weather conditions have a major impact on the ripeness and quality of the fruit, and this is why the taste of the brewery’s fruit-based beers will differ slightly from one year to the next. Group Therapy is a Double Dry-Hopped Session IPA brewed in collaboration with the magnificent Fuerst Wiacek. It's a soft & easy IPA at 4.5% with a double whammy of Amarillo & Mosaic hops.

Omnipollo – Bianca Mango Lassi Gose

Gose brewed with rock salt, lactose and mango purée. A mango lassi gose!

Moor – Nor'Hop Pale Ale

This ultra-pale ale is brewed with a limited availability hop from America to impart a pronounced floral and citric quality to the beer, with honey and elderflower in the nose. This beer had been so anticipated that in less than two weeks of release it had won a beer festival and sold out. Not wanting to disappoint its many fans, we have rebrewed it and added it to our list of permanent beers where it continues to be the benchmark for the style around the world. (Zitat Moor Beer Co)

Dry & Bitter - Profound Exhaustion American Pale Ale

You know that moment of inspiration that bubbles up after a few days of sleep deprivation? That crazy idea that might be nonsense but it might just be genius... That's Profound Exhaustion! Profound Exhaustion is also an American Pale Ale we brewed in collaboration with the deep and meaningful Modern Times Beer. Double dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Citra & Mosaic. A few weeks ago two of the best European craft breweries came together in Berlin to brew a beer we were craving for a long time in this summer. Join us on this Wednesday when FUERST WIACEK and LERVIG release Nimble, a crushable DDH Pale Ale with 3,8 % ABV for extended clubbing sessions. Nimble is brewed with a big amount of spelt and wheat. AleSmith Brewing Company - Speedway Stout Vietnamese Coffee

This Vietnamese coffee version of Speedway Stout is and continues to be AleSmith's most popular variation of the ever-growing Speedway Stout collection. Since 2012 we have been adding this blend of four Vietnamese coffees, known in Vietnam as cà phê sa dá, to our popular imperial stout. The coffee beans were slowly roasted at low temperatures and then brewed by AleSmith with a traditional phin-style filter that gently percolates water through the ground coffee. Northern Monk / Finback - Once, Twice, Three Times A Whale

We first brewed together at their home in NYC in June after attending Other Half’s Green City festival. The beer of choice was a double IPA utilising Citra hops in three forms; Leaf, T90 and Cryo Powder over a simple base of pilsner malt and flaked oats.
Both parties were so delighted with the results when Kevin and Basil came over to the UK for London Craft Beer Festival, it only seemed right to continue the theme! This time we brewed the same beer but switched it up with Mosaic hops. Expect a silky combo of berry fruit notes, tropical mango and bubblegum flavour from this intense, multi-dimensional hop. Magic Rock Brewing - Papillon (Rainbow Project 2018)

A barrel aged sour ale with blueberry, apricot and butterfly pea flowers. The foundation of this finale comes in the form of beautiful French oak barrels.The freshly emptied barrels came from different Châteaus nestling against the “Garonne” river in Bordeaux. The white wine was made from varietals of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon (2013 and 2014 vintages). Atop of the base beer fermented in the barrels with a mixed wild yeast culture butterfly pea flowers were used to introduce the colour blue. To augment the colour and add a fruity depth, blueberry and apricot concentrate were added. The blueberry a fitting link to Magic Rock’s first Rainbow Project beer in 2013: a blueberry IPA they called “Beauregarde”. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Magic Rock Brewing - De Molé

A double mashed Mexican Mole inspired Imperial Stout brewed in collaboration with our friends from De Molen. Oats, malts, barley and toasted pumpkin seeds were used in the mash to give a complex base of flavours. We then used a blend of Chipotle, Ancho, Mulato and Pasilla chilies to give a nice fruity acidity along with a delicate touch of heat. True to the Mole recipe, we also added cacao nibs, coriander seed, cinnamon sticks and a little cumin, giving depth and different layers of flavour, that develop as the beer warms. Smoky, chocolatey and roasty on the nose, with a great complexity of tastes. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)
