Beyond Beer bietet eine interessante Auswahl nationaler und internationaler Biere und eine gute Beratung. Und man kann auch 3 Biere vom Fass probieren, davon habe ich natürlich gleich Gebrauch gemacht.

Magic Rock Brewing - Cannonball

Cannonball is an India Pale Ale in the true tradition, high in alcohol and massively hopped to survive a long sea voyage. We don’t want you to wait though, take a swig and let the flavour explode on your palate. Tropically fruity, resinous hops compete against a sweet malty backbone, while a rasping bitterness builds to a mouth puckering crescendo. Our hop bomb will blow you out of the water. Heute feierte Beyond Beer seinen zweiten Geburtstag, zu diesem Anlaß gab es 7 besondere Biere vom Faß. Vier davon kannte ich noch nicht.

Omnipollo - Lemon Meringue Ice Cream Pie (Softserve)

This beer beer sits right between sour and sweet. In my mind it is the closest we’ve ever come to balance. Kettle-soured and brewed with added lactose, it is then conditioned on buckets of lemon juice. Perfect, like lemon meringue ice cream pie. Collaboration with our family at Buxton Brewery. Die Slush Maschine von Ugolini wurde mit reinem Bier befüllt, statt Bierschaum gab es dann Slush im Glas.

Magic Rock Brewing - Bellini Vice

The first of this series is a Raspberry & Peach Berliner Weisse mimicking the classic Bellini cocktail. It has a delicate and clean body, a beautiful peachy pink/orange colour from the fruit additions, bright carbonation and a refreshing sour tang. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Dugges Bryggeri & Stillwater Artisanal - Mango Mango Mango

If you’re going to put fruit in a beer, there’s no better fruit to use then mango. At least that’s what Magnus here at Dugges Bryggeri says. So, when there was time for another Dugges x Stillwater Artisanal collaboration, Magnus posed the idea of a mango beer to Brian of Stillwater. Turns out, Brian had the same idea about mango and beer as Magnus. So, we set out to do a mango solo! To make it a sour was a no-brainer. We’ve got nothing but love for our sour collaborations so far, and we wanted to continue exploring that. Said and done, with mango flavor from two types of mango fruit and from mosaic hops we did it. What we really want to write here is just Pale Ale… but that’s not very informative (nor should it be). We want to shout it at people. Get them excited. People nowadays rarely get excited about a pale ale. Pale Ale! This beer is a collaboration between Dugges Bryggeri and Cloudwater Brew, Manchester, UK. We wanted to explore the cooperation between a soft, biscuity malt base and lots and lots of fruity hops. We wanted to make a modern pale ale staple. The one you have in your fridge at all times. The goto. The neo-session. The pale ale, pale ale, pale ale. Vienna malt and oats gives the base, American hops in abundance gives the treble. And in the middle, there’s just pure delight. Pale ale! Magic Rock Brewing - Telepathy

Our latest IPA is a development of our recent Demonali IPA recipe, showcasing the new hop varietal Denali. Golden Promise malt was used in addition to Golden Naked Oats, Wheat and Pin Head Oats to achieve a smoother body. We added lots more Denali hops giving the beer big Pineapple and Pine aromatics and added in Citra and Simcoe lupulin powder for more tropical fruit and pine flavours. The beer was fermented with London Ale III for that juicy aroma and long finish. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Sometimes a drink can make you feel so decadent it's like you're a millionaire; this beer wraps you in a velvety cocoon, dresses you in a smart suit and takes you out for a special night on the tiles.
Sweet and salty collide in this rich, balanced and smooth dessert stout. Lactose, caramel and high quality Valrhona cocoa nibs provide a chocolate and caramel backbone alongside the roasty malts whilst the Cornish Sea Salts gives a savoury salty kick, raising this beautiful beer above the norm.

A Celebration Beer, with apple juice, wild yeasts, NZ hops and champagne fermentation.
Named after the ancient Sumerian goddess of beer, this is an equally divine Belgian-style Saison with a copious amount of New Zealand hops, freshly harvested Somerset apple juice and wild yeast. Thundering Typhoons

The nose is tempting with aromas of sweet peaches, lichee, bananas, blueberry and clove. The beer sports a medium but round body and goes down very smoothly. The flavours mimic the nose and there is an abundance of sweet ripe tropical fruit mixing with the spicy esters from the yeast strain. In short: It is delicious and perfect for drinking in the spring sunshine (Zitat Beavertown Brewery)

Planet Oedipus Lifeform No. 2 - PO17-DM-ALC&R

Brewing with Menno from De Molen was a great honor for us. They are an inspirational brewery from the Netherlands, mostly famous for strong and extreme beers. Which is why, together we opted for something more surprising, light and delicate. We chose to brew an adjunct lager with rice and malt in the grist, resulting in a super light body. It is clean bottom fermented and late and lightly dry hopped with Saphir hops. (Zitat Oedipus Brewing)

Planet Oedipus Lifeform No. 3 - PO17-NV-APZZP

Working with Nevel Artisan Ales was a lot of fun, and we think they make some of the best beers we’ve ever tasted. When their brewer Mattias came over from Nijmegen, together we concocted the masterplan to create a Zoetzuur Pilsner ?? We started with the base of a regular Pilsner which we then kettle soured with Lactobacillus. After bottom fermentation we added sweet apricots and dry hops to get to both the sour and the sweet in our pilsner. (Zitat Oedipus Brewing)

Planet Oedipus Lifeform No. 5 - PO17-PJ-ZDIBP

It’s a Salt Licorice Imperial Baltic Porter! All those things. We worked with our friends from the Estonian brewery Pohjala on this one. They are known for their solid, strong, dark beers. Brewing together we wanted to combine the best of the Netherlands and the Baltic states so we added licorice root to a Baltic porter. Creating a real Dutch zoute drop flavor in the bottom fermented dark beer. A Baltic porter is usually high in alcohol, sweet and robust, so we added some extra molasses syrup to create a more mineral saltiness for this licorice-like beer. (Zitat Oedipus Brewing)

Precognition

An experimental IPA using HBC 438, Yellow Sub and Ekuanot hops along with a smoothly oaty body designed to showcase the hops. Fermented with London Ale III yeast the beer has a big tropical aroma full of Mango and Pineapple. The flavour has more of the same Mango and Pineapple with Citrus, ripe Apricot and a satisfyingly bitter finish. (Zitat Magic Rock Brewing)

Oude Kriek Boon

Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400g of wild cherries are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon-Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. Gueuze Tilquin – draft version

The Gueuze Tilquin – draft version (4,8% alc/vol) is a spontaneous fermentation beer obtained from the blending of a low alcohol lambic (called Meerts or March beer) with 1 and 2 years old lambics matured in oak barrels. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, it is re-fermented in stainless steel kegs or in Keykegs for a minimum period of 3 months. The lambics used were fermented and matured in our own oak barrels at the blendery. They are made from worts brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon.
The taste is tart, dry and refreshing. The nose is fresh and lemony. An ideal light gueuze for terraces in the summer and for discovering the beers of spontaneous fermentation. (Zitat Gueuzerie Tilquin)

Hibernate

When winter comes, all you have to do is tuck in under your sheets and prepare for winter. But you can get kinda thirsty staying in your bed for months. So we figured our the perfect beer for this: Hibernate. Brewed with orange peel and coriander to take elements from the classic Wit bier, balanced out as a cream ale. Fermented at lower temperatures to leave more space for the dryhopping and the spices. A perfectly pleasing potent partner for any cold season. (Zitat To Øl)
